Introduction: Encouragement is an important way to motivate nurses to provide empathetic and safe care in complicated working conditions. This study aimed to determine job motivation among Iranian nurses in hospitals.
Materials and Methods: This study conducted using a systematic review and meta-analysis approach. Electronic valuable databases searched and evaluated for original research papers published on job motivation among Iranian nurses. Finally, seven empirical studies reviewed and analyzed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software.
Results: Based on random effects model, the mean and standard division Iranian nurses’ job motivation was 3/09 ± 0/23 (95% CI 2/63-3/55%). The highest mean and standard division job motivation was 4.40 ± 0.03 (95% CI 4.32-4.47%) that recorded in educational hospitals in Hamadan in 2015, and the lowest mean and standard division job motivation was 1.70 ± 0.12 (95% CI 1/46-1/93%) which found in a psychology hospital in Kashan in 2014. Significant statistical correlation was observed between job motivation mean value and year of study and sample size (P<0.05).
Conclusion: The mean job motivation among nursing staff in Iran was between medium to high; thus, managers and policymakers should take serious attraction to increase the job motivation among Iranian nurses.
