طب فشاری یکی از اشکال رایج طب مکمل است که در زمان قدیم رایج بوده و در سال‌های اخیر نیز رواج یافته است. شواهدی در مورد استفاده از آن در مامایی وجود دارد. با توجه به اهمیت این موضوع این مطالعه به بررسی تاثیر طب فشاری بر تهوع و استفراغ بارداری، زایمان و دیسمنوره می‌پردازد. بیشتر مطالعات نشان داد که طب فشاری در کاهش مشکلات مامایی موثر است و نیاز به دارو را کاهش می‌دهد. نتایج مطالعات در مورد اثر طب فشاری متناقض است. یکی از علل این تناقضات زمان لازم  برای ماهده اثر آن، تفاوت در مدت و شدت فشار اعمال شده و انتخاب نقاط متفاوت برای یک مشکل است. اما علیرغم این اختلافات بیشتر مقالات بر موثر بودن این روش تاکید دارند. طب فشاری یک روش مناسب برای کاهش مشکلات مامایی و کنترل درد زایمان و دیسمنوره است. به علت راحتی و ارزان و بی خطر بودن تمایل به استفاده از این روش زیاد می باشد این روش غیر تهاجمی و بدون عوارض می باشد و توسط مادران به راحتی قابل انجام است و در مراکز مراقبت از  مادران کاربرد دارد. ولی با توجه به نتایج متناقض مطالعات، استانداردسازی این روش ضروری به نظر می رسد.
