Introduction: Considering the key role of parenting skills during adolescence and parents' coping strategies, the aim of this study was to investigate the contribution of parents' coping strategies in predicting the mindfulness of high school girls.
Materials and Methods: The present study was of descriptive and correlation type. The statistical population of the research included all female students of the first secondary level of Qaimshahr city (Iran), 254 of whom were selected as a statistical sample using Morgan's Kargesi table and multi-stage random sampling, and were asked the Lazarus Coping Strategies Questionnaire (CSQ) and the Freiburg Mindfulness Questionnaire. (FMI-SF) responded. The results were analyzed using the simultaneous approach of the multiple regression method.
Results: The results showed that parents' coping strategies significantly predict the mindfulness of female students of the first secondary level (P < 0.01, F = 31.64, (254, 2)).
Conclusion: According to the findings of the research, it can be said that problem-oriented coping strategies reduce tension. Therefore, parents can better resolve their children's tensions and this also promotes awareness.
